Excursion to Pyramids of Giza, Memphis and Saqqara

First thing in the morning we will pick you up from the hotel to set off for Giza, a city located 20 kilometers from Cairo.

Once in Giza we will have three hours to enjoy a panorama that will remain forever engraved on your retina. This is where the Great Sphinx of Giza and the three largest and most famous pyramids in the country, erected for the pharaohs Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure .

At lunchtime we will stop to enjoy a typical menu that includes, among others, delicious grilled chicken skewers with vegetables, hummus, tahini and Arabic bread. For dessert, cakes and a refreshing fruit salad.

With the recovered forces we will go to the necropolis of Saqqara, one of the most important links in the history of Egypt where, among other things, you will be able to see the pyramid of Pharaoh Zoser, the first of the pyramids that were built in Egypt .

In Saqqara we will also visit the tomb of the chaty (chancellor) Mehu , recently opened to the public for the first time since its discovery in 1940. This high official of the 6th dynasty was buried with honors in a place that went unnoticed. for grave robbers. This has meant that the hieroglyphs that decorate it are in an exceptional state of conservation.

Our last stop will be Memphis, ancient capital of Egypt , an authentic open-air museum where you can see, among other monuments, the impressive sculpture of the Colossus of Ramses II and the superb Alabaster Sphinx .

Access the interior of the pyramids

If you have enough courage and are not overwhelmed by closed places, you can access the interior of the pyramids. You will have to choose between visiting the pyramids Khafre and Menkaure for only 100 Egyptian pounds (equivalent to € 6), or if you want to face the Great Pyramid of Cheops for 360 Egyptian pounds (approximately € 21), and it is highly recommended that choose the latter. For reasons of time, it will not be possible to visit the three pyramids.
