Imlil excursion from Marrakech
Clearly visible from Marrakech , when it is covered in snow for much of the year, the high plateaus, peaks and hidden valleys of the High Atlas mountains are only 1.5 hours away by car from the city.
Pick up from your hotel in Marrakech at 9 in the morning. From here it is a 1.5 hour drive to Imlil (1740 meters). In Imlil start a walk with the guide of the village of Aremd (1900 meters). Along the way you will see traditional Berber villages and see the highest peak in North Africa, Jbel Toubkal (4167 meters). In winter Toubkal will be covered in snow and it will be a beautiful sight to see in the distance.
After about 1 - 1.5 hours you will go to a local guest house to have a wonderful lunch. From here you will have a beautiful view of the Mizane Valley . After lunch you will be a 30 minute walk from Imlil . Transfer back to Marrakech by the same route that you arrived at Imlil.
