1 Día – Excursión a Efeso

Day 1 - FLIGHT TO THE ESMIRNA & TOUR OF THE EPHESUS AND HOUSE OF THE VIRGIN MARY

In the early morning, transfer to the airport and thus begin your journey to the Aegean coast. We flew to Izmir, which is the third largest city in Turkey. Then we have private transfer for one hour to Selcuk and you will join our small group there. We begin to discover the world heritage site of Ephesus.

Positively the best-preserved classical city in the eastern Mediterranean, and one of the best places in the world to get an idea of what Roman life must have been like, Ephesus was a great city with a population of about 250,000. During the tour, we will visit the Odeon, the well-preserved Great Theater, where Saint Paul preached which once had capacity for 25,000 spectators, Curetes street, one of the main avenues, the elegant facades of Hadrian's Temple and the impressive Library of Celsus, old public baths, remains of fountains and various temples.

Lunch in a local and tasty restaurant. We will continue to the great temple of Artemis, which was an ancient pilgrimage center, one of the seven ancient wonders.

We then visit the House of the Virgin Mary, a pilgrimage site for many people of all denominations. It has also been accepted by the Vatican as a pilgrimage destination and visited by Pope Paul VI, - John Paul II and Benedict XVI. At the end we will make a stop at a craft leather shop and transfer to the airport. Flight to Istanbul. Private transfer to your hotel.
